After threats from Kiev, Romanian senator urges Ukraine not to support

The Peacemaker website is known for its scandalous posts, in which journalists published data from militias and other citizens from the DPR and LPR, calling them “traitors to the homeland”. In the spring of 2016, “Peacemaker” published lists of journalists with contact details, including foreigners accredited by the DPR and LPR, after which some received threats. Dunja Mijatović, then OSCE Representative for Media Freedom, described the broadcast as “an alarming step that could further endanger the safety of journalists”. The actions of the owners of the “Peaceful” website were also criticized by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who considered the publications “a direct call for retaliation against journalists”. The database of the “Peacemaker” website also contains information about a number of Russian cultural figures and other citizens of different countries.
