Greece and Germany discuss the supply of BMP-1 to Ukraine

Greece and Germany agreed to buy an equal number of German-made Marder armored combat vehicles to Ukraine, instead of the East German-made BMP-1 type armored infantry vehicles they received in 1994. As of the beginning of November, Greece bought ten out of 40 vehicles from Marder1A3. During the visit of Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias to Kiev on October 19, 2022, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that Greece has started BMP-1 shipments to Ukraine.
