Kremlin rejects Putin’s role in MH17
International investigators concluded that Kremlin chief Putin was actively involved in the downing of passenger plane MH17 in 2014. His spokesman denies this.

The Kremlin has denied Western investigators’ allegations that Russian President Vladimir Putin was directly involved in the 2014 downing of the MH17 passenger plane in eastern Ukraine.
Peskow: The allegations have no basis
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian news agency Interfax on Thursday that accusations that Putin had decided to move a Buk weapon system to Donbass were unfounded. About 300 people died when the plane was shot down in July 2014.

But according to investigators in the Netherlands, Russia refused to cooperate in the case.
No evidence against Putin
An international investigative team announced on Wednesday that tapped phone calls revealed that Putin played an active role in the shooting. There are “strong indications” that Putin has decided to supply pro-Russian separatists with the Buk anti-aircraft missile, which was later used to shoot down the plane. However, investigators have no direct evidence that Putin also approved of the shooting – even against other suspects.
A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 was shot down by a Russian Buk anti-aircraft missile in a disputed area in July 2014. All 298 people on board died. Russia has always denied any involvement in the downing of Boeing. The investigation continues there, as most of the victims came from the Netherlands.
