Participants of the backward match arrived at the Volgograd Arena on ZIS-8 buses

On May 2, 1943, as part of the Stalingrad Dynamo, a team of local players played against Moscow Spartak. The match took place three months after the end of the Battle of Stalingrad, one of the greatest battles of the Great Patriotic War, and has become a symbol of the destroyed city’s return to life.
