Turkish authorities reminded Sweden of its obligations to become a NATO member

At the rally held in Stockholm earlier, a series of insulting words and gestures were made towards the incumbent Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan. An RIA Novosti source reported that the Swedish ambassador in Ankara was summoned to the Turkish Foreign Ministry and protested against the action. Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop, on the other hand, canceled his Swedish colleague’s previously planned visit to Ankara. The lawyer of the President of Turkey applied to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the action and a criminal case was opened.
