US: Iranian soldiers in Crimea

According to the information given by the USA, Iranian soldiers are in Crimea. Therefore, Iran sent military personnel to Russia to train in the use of Iranian drones.

The US government said it has evidence of the presence of Iranian troops in Crimea, a peninsula annexed by Russia. John Kirby, spokesman for the National Security Council at the White House, said on Thursday that there are relatively few soldiers supporting Russian troops in the use of Iranian-made drones against Ukraine.

The information we have is that the Iranians have trainers and technical support in the Crimea, but the Russians are in control.

Iran and Moscow deny Iranian intervention in Ukraine

Since the beginning of last week, Russia has been increasingly using drones against important civilian infrastructure in Ukraine. According to Ukrainian sources, most of them come from Iran.

The US had already announced in the summer that Russia had purchased such drones from Iran for use against Ukraine. Iran denies selling the drone to Russia, and Moscow says it built the drone itself.

USA: Technical support and trainers from Iran in Russia

US officials said Iran is sending military personnel to Russia because the Russians have no experience with Iranian drones. Declassified intelligence footage shows the Russians experiencing technical problems after the drones were delivered in August.

The systems themselves failed and did not perform as customers expected.

For this reason, Iran sent technical support and trainers to Russia so that the Russians could be more accurate about drones.
